Are the containers pressurized? The containers can be manufactured to maintain a constant pressure but most are designed to be a controlled breathing container. Controlled breathing means that the container can build up to a set pressure and vacuum. Once the pressure is exceeded a valve opens and allows the internal pressure to equalize with the atmosphere.
Can the container be designed to accommodate nitrogen purging? The containers can be designed to allow for the unit to be stored in a nitrogen environment. The majority of containers are presently protected from moisture using desiccant.
What material is used to dampen the G forces to the unit? This can be accomplished using elastomeric mounts, helical isolators, or dunnage as the customer desires.
Are the containers CE certified? The Containers can be CE certified.
What are the containers designed in accordance with? The containers are designed to your specifications or Statement of Work. Standard Specifications are SAE ARP 1967 and MIL-STD-648.
What materials are the containers manufactured from? The containers are mainly manufactured from steel or aluminum. Champion can manufacture them from other materials as dictated by the Customer.
How much larger will the container be then the unit? The size of the container will depend on the amount of sway space needed to accommodate the fragility of the unit. The lower the “G” factor the more sway space is needed in the container while the higher the “G” factor less sway space is needed.
What sizes do you build? Our units can be the size of a foot locker all the way to 11,000 pounds.
Do you make military containers? Yes, for all branches.

Do you have full testing capability? Yes, we can even design and build a simulator to accomplish this requirement.
Do you service containers? We regularly refurbish many of our containers for our customers.
What are your drawing capabilities? We do 2D and 3D design using AutoCAD, Mechanical 2004, and Solid Edge ST2.
Do you have the ability to do virtual fit ups? Yes, by means of file conversions and the 3D modeling software.
Do you have Unigraphics NX Software? Solid Edge is a Siemens 3D modeling software and is capable of reading in Unigraphics NX models and drawings.
Do you do onsite FEA (Finite Element Analysis)? We have some FEA capability by means of simulation in Solid Edge which is a NX Nastran add on to the software and will produce stress analysis of both parts and assemblies.
Do you design and build engine shipping stands? We can design and build engine support stands per customer specifications or statement of work.
